Essay “Verbal self-portrait. Rules for describing a person using the verbal portrait method

The text of the self-description was sent by Marina herself.
When preparing a psychological portrait, two of her letters to our site were also used. Marina did not make any special requests; she was interested in general recommendations. She gave her consent to the publication of the results of the portraiture. About herself she reports that she is 19 years old, a 4th year student humanitarian institute, works, lives with his parents, sister and dog.

It’s quite difficult for me to write about myself, because... I'm overloaded with rather contradictory information about myself. I am inquisitive, but I don’t know how to insist, I’m quick-tempered, but quick-witted, I try to adhere to rules and norms, but if there is an opportunity to get around them, I take advantage. I react hard to criticism (I’ve been praised since childhood - so I’m used to it :-), but I’m not vindictive and if I see someone’s step towards getting closer, I’ll meet them halfway.

Cheerful but thoughtful. In general, my mood changes quickly (in both directions). My friends consider me an encyclopedia, but this is more because of my intelligence than because of my deep knowledge - I know how to show myself.

However, I am relaxed only among acquaintances or where no one knows each other. In large companies, in a new place, I feel awkward.

I really don’t like: awkward situations, letting someone down, when others are bullied in my presence (or in my absence), I also don’t like extremes.

I love: learning new things, nature, flowers, everything in which I see beauty. I am very interested in people, their destinies, the motives of their actions. I know there is a lot I don't know, and I really want to know. But it’s impossible to educate yourself; you lack willpower and discipline.

Everything is relatively good in my family and personal life, although my boyfriend thinks that I think too much and invent problems for myself.

The problem of choice is difficult for me - I worry for a long time afterwards. It's also very difficult to approach someone with a request - my heart starts pounding. It’s very difficult for me to force myself to do something (call friends, go to the cinema, join a club, take a course) and not because I don’t want to, but it’s the first step that’s difficult for me.

I don’t like this about myself, and I really want to change it. I just don’t know how. Can you help?

P.S. I also noticed that my handwriting greatly depends on what I write. This is fine?

results psychological analysis text:

There is nothing scary or surprising about the fact that your handwriting changes depending on what you write. This speaks of your emotionality, a remarkable quality for a woman, as long as it is natural and not excessive. Unfortunately, you have such an excess, and you probably are not always able to cope with it, since it is not only an innate excess, but also a reaction to conflict situations for you that are associated with difficulties in communication.

Your handwriting shows manifestations of two contradictory psychological tendencies. On the one hand, this is a tendency towards openness and sincerity, which manifests itself, for example, in the drawings of the letters a, b, e, z, and the structure of the line:

so and high level the emotional intensity of your speech (I really want to know, it’s hard for me, it’s very difficult for me to force myself). Openness combined with energy, unfortunately, is not understood correctly by every counterparty; this style of behavior is often considered intrusive and tiresome. A defensive reaction is a refusal to communicate, often with ridicule of openly stated desires, which can be regarded as bullying (I really don’t like... when in my presence... they mock others). In addition, you seem to be impatient - if you don’t immediately get what you wanted, you get offended and start worrying instead of showing patience and perseverance.

Secondly, you apparently have not yet sufficiently developed the habit of self-control and reflection; you pay too little attention to yourself. Not in the sense of experiences, but in the sense of attention and interest in oneself. Unlike most women of your age, you have not written anything about your appearance, whereas exactly appearance is one of the most significant factors of communication in youth. We must assume that either, for some ideological reasons, you do not consider your appearance to be significant, or you have some problems here that are unpleasant or even painful for you to talk about. One way or another, you should keep in mind that the success of communication does not depend so much on the advantages or disadvantages given by nature; usually it is directly proportional to the efforts spent on their improvement and education. The fact is that it is in the process of working on themselves that women almost primarily work on their own appearance, the ability to look at oneself from the outside arises. And, as a rule, people value their own kind not so much as what is given by nature, but rather as art - to the extent that a person has made himself. Lack of attention to oneself is a common problem for children from prosperous families, where the child is loved simply because he is one of their own, and everyone is loved, even the unwashed.

If your balance of openness/secrecy develops towards secrecy, at least four dangers await you. In parallel with the decrease in the number of favorable contacts with others, your level of self-esteem will not only fall, but an inadequate increase in the subjective value of the attention shown to you will begin. In other words, for minor signs of attention from a person you are interested in, you will be ready to become his slave, to sacrifice your own dignity and interests. At the same time, there will be complaints against you for inattention to other people who are less interesting to you.

On the other hand, you are threatened with hypocrisy mixed with envy. Already now, when you write that you do not like extremes, you are most likely being slightly disingenuous. With your energy, openness and quick mood swings (my mood changes quickly), you probably have a need for extreme manifestations of emotions and are inclined to show them, but restrain yourself for fear of misunderstanding. All this can quite easily turn into a desire to set similar restrictions for others and demand from them compliance with rules and norms that you yourself are not averse to breaking (if there is an opportunity to bypass them, then I use it). Moving along this path, you will eventually be able to become, for example, an avid feminist, a fighter for women's rights.

On the third hand, you are threatened by the possibility of finding an area of self-improvement outside of yourself, for example, hoping that further education or some kind of scientific knowledge that you can acquire will help you overcome your shyness. Knowledge is certainly useful, but in this case, it will not be able to justify the hopes that you place on it. Unfortunately, you are considering scientific knowledge as something special, not related to your personal life and interests. Speaking about knowledge, you even immediately switch to another clerical language that is unusual for you (demographic data: 19 years old, gender - female, not observed by psychiatrists or psychologists, overloaded with rather contradictory information about yourself). This already suggests that you rely on them as a miraculous remedy and attribute to them functions that are unusual for them. However, if you do scientific activity, You most likely have enough energy and determination to achieve scientific success, but that’s all.

The fourth way is daydreaming, the quality that you, apparently, nurture while lying on the couch and not daring to go to the movies. This is also not the worst way. On this path, you have already mastered the Internet and have probably become a regular in chat rooms and other forms of indirect communication. It can also lead you to a field where you can achieve real success, for example, by turning to writing, and become a dreamer like Masha Arbatova. You will invent all sorts of scary and romantic stories about yourself, write romance novels about modest beauties and enlightened African princes (an option - enlightened new Russians). But you will not be cured of shyness along this path.

Of course, it will be better if you don’t go anywhere, stay in place and take care of yourself a little. I must say that in a good way you are an ideal client for a psychotherapist, the client he can only dream of. You have no serious reasons to refuse friendly communication; on the contrary, you strive for it, and your problem is perhaps one of the most methodically worked out in psychotherapy. You will be offered simple game exercises, which will quickly give desired result. You will have the opportunity to spend your energy on communication. Do not accumulate it in yourself, which is fraught with bad consequences for health, and not only mental health, but spend it correctly and with pleasure.

You can try to solve your problems yourself - you have such a desire and a good attitude. To do this, you will have to persuade yourself to spend time and money on women’s favorite activities. Go to the hairdresser, beauty salon, fitness club, solarium, if necessary, even to the dentist and speech therapist. And everywhere they say that you are not interested in health, at your age it is too early to worry about this, not in changing your image, but in beauty. It is important to communicate with as many specialists as possible and get confirmation that everything is in relative order. In a month or two, not only will you not recognize yourself, but those around you, those who had not noticed before, will come running to get acquainted. Oddly enough, from these simple activities you will get a lot of food for the mind and learn a lot about yourself, good and bad. At the very least, the basis for the awkwardness that embarrasses you will disappear before your eyes, and shyness will imperceptibly give way to modesty.

a) Sample of a self-portrait based on material from the Internet:

He is shy and modest - as much as his acting profession allows. He is sober about his achievements. A serious artist with a subtle lyrical and comedic talent, Andrei Kaykov comments on the most important things.

Who am I?

“I am a person who enjoys life. And I like my different roles - actor, father, friend, son... In each of them I manage to feel in my place and be in harmony with the situation. Accept what is. I like to communicate with other people and do not oppose myself to them. But at the same time, I am a rather secretive person and am not ready to discuss my personal problems with anyone. Even my family has a hard time getting anything out of me. I took this quality from my father: he does not like to interfere in the lives of others, to disturb someone, to impose himself. And this is also typical for me. I'm hardworking, quick-tempered and responsible, but I don't think that comes with age. I don't think I'm changing. Rather, I grow in breadth, like a tree: new branches appear, but the trunk and core remain united.”

b) Words used to describe a person's character:

You can describe a person’s character with the following words: optimistic, generous, open, practical, wise, sociable, hospitable, sociable, responsible, calm, caring, man of his word, inattentive, firm, reliable, logical, unemotional, attentive, insightful, influential, sensitive, polite , witty, talkative, cheerful, proud, impulsive, tactful, arrogant, impudent, friendly, etc.

V) Take your own self-portrait.

Samples of work:

  • There is one boy living in my city. Hm. No.
There is one boy living in my house.
There is only one boy living in my room - me.
He (I) is a very interesting person.
Graceful, cultured, slightly annoying, a little crazy.
He was born in the distant past. Well, exactly 14 years ago.
He graduated from an institution called “nothing.”
He is currently studying at educational complex"Mkhitar of Sebastia".
Previously, he received his education at the school named after Hakob Kojoyan.
I heard rumors that a few months ago he started writing poetry.
He writes poorly, but I like his style.
They say his poems are very cruel, directed towards someone dear to him.
They say he is in love, suffering from unrequited love.
For some reason, I don't believe these rumors.
He is too lazy, when he walks through the door, I saw it myself, he sits down in a chair and starts playing his stupid games!!!
In the morning, it’s not easy for me to persuade him to wake up. He is often late for school. And not only to school, I tell you.
I kept an eye on him, and it turns out that he always arrives late everywhere.
This is the kind of person my contemporary is.
But despite all his defects, despite all the bad things in him, I love him very much.
    He's just a sweetheart.
  • Voskanyan Eric

C) work in pairs/groups: in a few minutes, based on a few questions to each other, make a verbal portrait of your peer from Georgia/Armenia and present it. And the one whose portrait was drawn up says how accurately it was made and what the mistake was. When drawing up a portrait, pay attention to

  • Appearance
  • Actions.
  1. The next part of the lesson is conducted using the “Perspective” technology.

Four creative groups are being created. Each group works in a certain role position: innovators, optimists, pessimists, experts.

  • Innovators present their personal self-education program;
  • Optimists highlight everything positive in the presented program;
  • Pessimists pay attention to everything negative and ill-conceived in the self-education program;
  • Experts summarize and analyze the information received, evaluate the work of each creative group, and make additions.
  1. Individual work on laptops (in blogs or electronic notebooks):

The person I would like to be like"

(Creating a portrait of a modern young man.)

After some time, the works are read out and discussed, after which the teacher reads the text from the electronic manual “This is cool!”

TEXT:

Do parents always understand their grown-up children well? Let's try to figure out what interests you modern teenagers, what is considered cool among them and what their parents do not always agree with.

So, today among young people:

It's cool to drink beer, but a weak one so as not to lose your bearings.

It's cool to ride outside in any weather - through puddles, snow; It's cool to ride on railings, benches and stairs. It's cool to just drive fast and scream.

It's cool to ride around in dirty clothes, wearing one piece of clothing, wearing a cap on your head backwards.

It's cool to wear shorts as much as possible, especially in winter, and wear a hat in summer. You have to wear incredible hats that surprise everyone around you.

It's cool to wear things upside down and backwards. You definitely need different socks, you can also use different laces. It’s even cooler to wear, say, one sneaker and one fin. You need to experiment as much as possible with your appearance.

It’s cool to wear a bunch of different pendants on your head, neck, arms, clothes, and have piercings in all places on your body. It's cool to have a tattoo.

It's cool to run down the street in ridiculous clothes, yell, and jump. It’s cool to stand on end all the time, it’s cool to behave unconventionally.

Questions for conversation.

How do you feel about this behavior of young people? Do you like this style, this fashion? Could you dress like this?

Do you think your parents understand you well?

What disagreements do you have with your parents - about clothes, music?..

Is it always necessary to agree with the opinion of the parents, or is the teenager already capable of making choices in life?

Do you listen to your parents' advice? How do you feel about their opinion?

Do problems always exist between parents and children?

Do you think you will understand your children well?

In your opinion, until what age should children live with their parents?

Should parents help adult children financially?

  1. Reading a text about our contemporaries (musicians, writers, directors, simply interesting people)
  • I won’t say his name, because I don’t know how to spell it in Russian. In Armenian it is called Մհեր. He is my father’s brother, which means he is my uncle, but since I can’t call him uncle, I’ll just call him He.

So here it is. He is smaller than his father both in height and age. He was born and raised like his father in Vanadzor. The school was also there, but the university was already in Yerevan. But it is not important. And the fact that I don’t understand his profession (If it’s interesting, he graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations).

He has musical education. At the age of seven he knew how to play the piano.

But then it turned out that he taught himself to play the guitar. He says that in order to attract the attention of girls, he started playing in the group Lav Eli. This band does not classify themselves into any musical genre, but they are called an alternative rock band. They started their career in Vanadzor. But then they came to Yerevan, and people loved them here. It turned out that two members of the group then left the country and began to live in the USA, one of the members returned to Vanadzor, and my father’s brother remained in Yerevan, got married and a person dear to me was born - his daughter. On this moment He has four children, but she remains the most dear to me.

I don't know where he learned to do magic tricks, but sometimes we ask him to show something. As a child, his tricks were the most amazing phenomenon. We tried sticking coins into our necks or eating them, but we couldn't.

If you see that someone is looking at us from the picture,

Or a prince in an old cloak, or a steeplejack in a robe,

Pilot or ballerina,

Or Kolka, your neighbor,

The painting must be called... (Portrait)

  • Now I will show you a portrait of a young girl. It was written by the famous artist Levitsky. This is a portrait of his daughter. (The teacher shows a fragment of the filmstrip - the girl’s face, gives a description of the portrait).
  • I'll tell you about this girl's face. She has a full, oval-shaped face. The eyes are located at the top of the face. The eyes are large, round, brown. Above the eyes, there are wide black eyebrows in the shape of an arc. Below the eyes is the nose. The nose is straight, a little large. The lips are thin and pink. The forehead is open, long black hair is combed back.
  • Guys, let's remember together the description of the girl compiled by me.

a) What did I talk about at the beginning? (Children's answers are about the face.)

b) Then? (About eyes, eyebrows.)

c) And at the end? (About the nose, about the lips, about the hair.)

  • The artist Levitsky looked at his daughter and painted her portrait. I described her face in words.
  • Look what I have. (Mirror.)

My light, mirror, tell me the whole truth.

Am I the cutest in the world,

All blush and whiter?

  • Who talked to their mirror like that? (The princess from “The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights.”)
  • I, looking in the mirror, will tell you about my face. (Teacher's story.)
