The photo archive shows historical views of the province of East Prussia. They will be supplemented by current images dating back to the time the German population lived here. The content of the archive is constantly expanding. The goal of this project is to show as comprehensive a picture of life in East Prussia as possible through photography.

The photographic documents presented in the archive are further enhanced by a detailed cartographic system on a scale of 1:25,000 with numerous plans of settlements. A unified classification combined with textual information facilitates targeted searches.

Another important aspect is the exchange platform. We welcome a live exchange of information. For this purpose, for each image you will find in the “Contact/order image” menu an indication of the source and contact address.

The East Prussian Photo Archive brings together photographs and other documents from public and private collections. You can transfer photographs and postcards belonging to you to the archive in order to preserve them for future generations. Please contact
