About the university

The university was established on the basis of the All-Union Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the Correspondence Polytechnic Institute by the Government Decree Russian Federation dated February 20, 1992, No. 101. The founder is the Government of the Russian Federation, the powers of the founder are exercised by the Federal Agency for Education. License: series A No. 169730, reg. No. 5621 dated November 9, 2005. Certified and accredited until 01/10/2011.

MRSU is a modern university with laboratory and computer facilities, a television studio, and its own satellite educational channel.

MGOU today is a wide educational network. It consists of 7 institutes (branches), 18 branches and 6 representative offices located throughout Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. The university prepares full-time, part-time and part-time education specialists in engineering and humanitarian areas.

Here you can get an education at the faculties: international economic relations, law, business and management, linguistics and intercultural communications, applied mathematics, management and economic policy, as well as engineering, mining and oil, energy, computer science and radio electronics, mechanical engineering, automotive, chemical -technological, construction in total in 59 specialties. Education is conducted in full-time, part-time and part-time forms of education.

The contingent of students as a whole for the university as of 1.10.2006 is 81,560 people, including full-time - 14925 people, part-time - 6563, part-time - 60702 people.

The educational process is provided by the basic university (Moscow) 959 people, of which 716 full-time teachers, including doctors of science, professors 78 people (10.9%), candidates of science, associate professors 388 people (54.2%).

In the International Academy of Mineral Resources, the Academy of Industrial Ecology, the Institute for Advanced Studies, teachers of the university and other universities are retrained and improve their scientific and pedagogical potential. The technopark of the university is constantly improving and expanding. As part of the implementation of the federal target program "Development of a unified educational information environment", the Federal Agency for Education supplied the Moscow State Open University with a software and hardware complex, which is a functionally oriented information system consisting of graphic stations, IBM servers, an optical disk replication system, video studios and audio studios with video-audio editing systems. Innovative activity is a determining factor in the university. Moscow State Educational Institution, together with the interstate television and radio company MIR, created a satellite educational television channel. The signal from the satellite is received throughout Russia, CIS countries and Eastern Europe.

MRSU is an open university, it provides all students with equal access to quality education, regardless of their place of residence and social status. This was especially evident in the admissions campaign this year. Applicants from 28 regions of the country joined the ranks of students of the base university in Moscow. For non-resident applicants, students and graduate students, the university has comfortable dormitories.

Since 2006, the faculties, institutes and branches of Moscow State University have been accepting and enrolling taking into account the results of the Unified State Examination.

To prepare for the entrance examinations at the university, the Faculty of Pre-University Training (FDP) was created. By participating in pre-university training, the applicant is preparing not only to pass the entrance examinations, but also to study at Moscow State University, consciously chooses a profession through communication with the teaching staff of Moscow State University. At the request of FDP students, they can be trained in other subjects of the program of the secondary (complete) general school, which are not taken out on entrance tests at MGOU.
